Weebly Guidelines
Follow these steps when developing your online student digital portfolio site

1. Go to http://www.weebly.com and sign up with an email and password you will remember. YOU are the owner of this site.

2. Have a professional production name for your site when you sign up.

3. Once you sign up, you must send me your URL.

4. At minimum, you need a:
  • Home page  - Requires a headshot picture of yourself and a 2-3 sentence description of who you are.
  • Video page - Add a title for your video and use the "Embed Code" element to copy video from SchoolTube. You may add a short description of the video as well. -- Video "width 395  height 240."
  • Blog page - In "Pages" select the BLOG style design.
  • Contact page - Use the "Contact Form" element.

5. At least 1 photo image that is owned by you must appear on each blog post. It could be a screenshot from your video, or maybe a behind the scenes picture from your production.

6. You must blog after every video project. So once your video is complete, upload it to SchoolTube or YouTube.

7. Embed into Weebly --> Video Tutorial - Embed your video from SchoolTube to Weebly

8. Blog 5-7 sentences about the good, the bad, and the ugly of your particular video. This is also a great time to share a back story, or write about elements of the story that you had to cut from the published project.
  • What am I authoring? I need to remember that I hold all the power (and responsibility) when creating media.
  • Does my message reflect understanding in format, creativity, and technology?
  • Is my message engaging and compelling for my target audience?
  • Have I clearly and consistently framed values, lifestyles, and points of view in my content?
  • Have I communicated my purpose effectively?

9. After that, you can blog as much as you want and add pages if you want. Design is up to you. I can help with instruction on the design, such as:
  • Layout
  • Color
  • Font
  • Using link outs rather than long URLs
