day 31

1.     All students should be working on their Short News Package assignment. They have A LOT to do.

2.     Students should be working on ANY of the following steps listed here. If students are not working on any part of this list, they are misusing their time, so please write their name down for me.

• Remind them ALL footage (interview and BRoll) should be completed NO LATER than this Sunday November 9th.
• If they cannot get all of their footage by Sunday, they MUST change subjects and select a subject they WILL get all the footage for by Sunday.
• Work on the LHS-TV // Spot Feature Planning Sheet in Google Docs
• Send emails, call or contact via social media the people they plan on interviewing to set up a time to record the interview and BRoll.
• Research their subjects online, ask friends, family, or people they know to get background info
• Record their interview
• Record their BRoll
• Import ANY footage they have already recorded.
• Begin editing any footage imported.
• Watch any and all examples they can.
• Go through ALL of the links included in the Short News package Google Doc assignment.

*** If students say they just CAN’T do anything else for their project (which won’t be true) tell them no problem, they MUST go out and:  

• Practice shooting BRoll – Wide, Medium and Tight of three different actions
• Practice shooting an interview – compose the shot in the rule of thirds and practice interviewing a partner in class.
• Edit this practice footage together
• Reshoot and re-edit any portion of their WALLDO project
• Students MAY leave the classroom to record their footage, but they MUST sign out using the attached sign out sheet
